Jr. Product/UX Designer

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for a talented Jr Product/UX Designer to join our growing Brooklyn based digital product agency. This role is for a designer who has experience carrying live and abstract products all the way through the design process. The role also asks for the ability to clearly communicate ideas and debate design choices with research-backed ideas.

The people who thrive in this position can switch modes easily between solo efforts and team projects, and seek a wide array of design-thinking challenges. A day in the life of a Product Designer here is always dynamic. They can jump into a kick off with a new client one hour and close up user test analysis for a different project the next. They enjoy the rigor of producing high quality designs, know that feedback drives the process, and enjoy the challenge of building a design-centered culture. They’re thoughtful, open minded, and low ego.

The best candidate for this position possesses a solid understanding of user-centered design principles and excellent visual design skills. They have a desire to create user interface and product solutions that surprise, challenge, and engage users in innovative and delighting ways.

Working at App Partner

We pride ourselves on the culture of learning. As a designer on our team we look for the kind of person who proactively seeks new new challenges for themselves, feeding a need to grow and debate all things design always.

Being a part of a boutique agency in New York City you can expect the range of projects that you will encounter to consistently offer new and diverse opportunities for growth in all phases of the design process. From researching a totally new industry and user base to experimenting with the latest interaction design plugins with developers for a new project - you will never be left unentertained.

Collaborating with the dev and management teams you can expect to grow and hone an ability to hit the ground running with new ideas, constraints and research methods. Internally we try to streamline our design process with the latest technologies and custom built resources that we iterate on to consistently take our game to the next level.

And we get that most people want to work in a great loft office overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan, and the Statue of Liberty – not some box in a shared space. We get that work needs to be fun, vibrant and exciting – but never distracting. We get that transparency, communication and opportunities for growth matter. And that free snacks don’t hurt either. We get that work is a big part of your life, but it’s not your whole life. And we get that smart, creative people want to be around other smart, creative people. If this sounds like the culture fit and the challenge you want let’s talk!
